In A Cold Sleep” : A study in Realism
Abstract:
The most striking element of realistic poetry is its attempt to make writing resembles life by
taking subject form world around and represent them as they are. On the base of realism this
paper endeavor to trace dominant presence of realistic ethos. Depiction of the social and
psychological reality of middle class , taking subject from contemporary life, reject idealizing
conventions, and through the use of symbols and imagery the poet shows underlying stigma
and social frustration of Nepalese people. At some point the poet seems intensifying the
perception of reality but actually he is reinforcing on psychological interpretation of Middle
class. This paper examines manifold issues from two text : “We” and “Midday In A Cold
Sleep” _are ironical Nepali poetry that give curved view of human psychology and social life
of contemporary Nepal.
