The story

“There is never Nothing happening”. Earth completes its rotation in 24 hours, passing through Mars, Jupiter and other planet it finally comes to the same beginning. Every day it moves to change the day, months and seasons. The buds of summer gets touch of autumn fall which broods it to blossom in spring; again it fades down until the earth move to invite summer. These phase of flower also cliché that something is happening. But we people sit alone in our lousy room and think nothing is happening, nothing has changed. We often feel nothingness, emptiness around us because we never try to accept the reality that something is happening.
It was a fine summer morning when I woke up with humming birds around my windows and the eastern sky lends some rays to my abode. That chattering sound of birds tends to destroy slumber by enlightening mind with full of unrecognized rhymes, filling some kind of pleasure in my unconscious. This pleasure gives rise to the feeling of hope, expectation and mostly the quest of love like those parrots above my wooden shelf.

While selling that clay made parrots the vendor has said, its color will last for only six months and after one year may be it will crack down like dry spell in field. But that dry spell never dare to touch those parrots neither their color washed out. They seems alive in branch of clay, Just give them a gasp of breath and they would conquer whole sky. There are two parrots one standing up, may be the male parrot, looking down at female one. Those looks are without any intention, without any purpose, just a hopeful look full of expectation. Anyone can feel something happening in that stillness. Something like love is happening that artificial heart is feeling natural love. That love which we people also cannot feel easily even if the love is waiting in front of us.

Sometime people don’t like themselves very much when they cannot find love in someone who really loves them or when they fail to understand the fact that “It is the experience of love that gives happiness, not the person whom we love”. Similar to that male parrot who is continuously looking at its love but the female parrot never make any effort to steal those glance. Though, that female parrot always manages to keep smile in her face, her eyes refuse to support that smile. Anyone can sense the feeling of nothingness, emptiness in her smile. A smile without any purpose, without any reason is just the movement of lips not a smile. Her smile is always meaningless to her, only other feels happy upon seeing that smiley face.

The expressions of male parrot force me to believe that, hope of love is always blissful than love itself. Male parrot is full of hope, something is happening to him but female parrot neither has any hope nor expectation, she is dreaming in twilling. It is said that the importance of light is felt in darkness. She is not aware that the male parrot will fly someday and never return. That time she will feel the plight of his absence. Her meaningless smile also cannot overcome the feeling of regression. A part of mine want to say “Wake up u little bird; look there someone is waiting for you”. But how could I speak to that clay which has no heart, no feelings to understand my words. Yet, I can hope something must be going inside her heart because there is ‘never nothing happening’.

के नेपाल सानो छ (Is Nepal Small?)

Original text by Laxmi Prasad Devkota “ के नेपाल सानो छ ”   Translated by:   Biranchi Poudyal Note –     I’m looking forward for comments and reviews from readers to improve this translation. Still working on it to make it better! Nepal! Beauteous, serene, vast! One day I wrote myself, I can't say how I got this feeling of "vastness". Go through the map of world and behold the size of Nepal.  This little droplet seems like vanishing in the ocean. This small piece looks like a small cave lying on the Himalayan mountain range. People from many countries and races may not have even heard its name.  This tiny lovely slice of earth existing like a green capital of peace tends to hide itself than exposing its treasure to the outer world.  It adores solitude. It's more interested in enjoying the icecap of knowledge and wisdom than taking part in scorching struggles of the world. Despite some curiosity in modernity, it's the worshipper ...

Bridging the Gaps

Bridging the Gaps Despite being all-weather friends, the lacuna in Nepal-China relations lies in implementing the bilateral agreements inked in different period of time. While Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli made his six-day state visit to China from June 19–24, 2018, numerous agreements were signed between Nepal and China’s public and private sectors to develop hydropower projects, cement industries and establishing highland food parks. While different Nepali investors and Chinese investors were signing the separate memorandum of understandings (MoUs) in Beijing, Nepalese media, academicians and foreign policy experts back home were mulling whether these agreements will be implemented ? This time, there are high chances of these agreements being implemented soon as the present government is strong and environment for the foreign investment is stable, and most importantly the agreements have been made with the private companies as well. While inaugurating the 2018 Nepal-China Busine...
